Reflection on the class - This lecture was all about AI and the potential that it has. Has been on the rise and has become particularly popular lately. This class had really interesting examples of AI, we have all seen and heard them they have created this weird social dynamic on how people act and respond, many people find it all to be funny and do no harm while others find it to be deeply unsettling. I personally think that the majority of AI use is unsettling as it can really easily be used to deceive people and with a lack of regulation on it and its use.

An area I would have liked to have been covered in class content would have been the environmental impact it has and will have in the future as I feel you can't talk about the potential and some of the negatives without talking about real life consequences as well.

Trends in UX Last semester I wrote a write-up on trends in UX and a very large part of it was about the future of UX with the possibility of AI, challenges with it, and I looked at a book that was AI and user experience.

The Future

The future of AI is going to happen and it will be incorporated into everybody's day to day jobs, but as designers it will affect how we work and what we produce. I came across this article by Dave P about the future of AI in brand tone of voice. When I will be incorporated into the brand tone of voice will be part to personalise and maximise the use of the AI in this article they break down eight different ways it will help this area

  1. Predictive analysis of tone of voice - by looking at past branding and how effective it was it can create an effective tone of voice to ensure the messages represent the brand in the best way possible.
  2. Emotionally intelligent AI - as the AI breaks down branding it will be able to understand and respond to human emotions, to create a tone of voice that creates a deeper and more meaningful relationship with the users which can enhance the relationships between them.
  3. Real time adaption - instead of taking a while to respond to the users you will be able to get an instant response that adjusts the tone and content for the users to create a more dynamic unresponsive and responsive brand that creates a better relationship with the users that's interactive and engaging.
  4. Voice ad conversational AI - voice assistants will develop and play a much larger role in brand communication and tone of voice as it helps create a consistent brand and communicate clearly with the users.
  5. Hyper personalisation - the AI brand tone of voice will be able to adjust to the individual user's but still represents the brand it creates a personalised relationship that feels unique and increases the user's satisfaction.
  6. AI in Augmented and Virtual reality marketing - as these tools become more incorporated into society the AI will help make sure that they remain consistent and engaging for the users so that augmented reality and virtual reality create a more personalised branding experience.
  7. Interactive brand experience - all of these different ways that the AI will adjust the brand and tone of voice for the users create a more personalised experience that is consistent with the brand that will enhance the customer's engagement and create memories for the users.
  8. Enhance customer engagement - the way the aI will adapt instantly to the users creates a really engaging and enhancing user experience which means users are more willing to work with that brand again.

The Impact

As I grows and becomes a lot more popular there will be many positives and negative effects of AI usage, every time I hear anything about I consider the environmental impact that it has. I started to look into the impact of AI, and I came across this article by Alokya Kanungo which discusses the carbon footprint of AI.
