Values

After creating my project proposal I started to explore what the key values of the brand would be with a mind map. Out of these values, the three I want for my brand are community, easy, and welcoming.

• Community - we are committed to helping international students find a sense of belonging and connection with people who share similar experiences.
• Easy - we aim to make international students’ lives easier through a convenient way of building community.
• Welcoming - we encourage all students to have an enjoyable university experience and build friendships.

Name

When it came to naming the brand I found it very difficult as I wanted it to be friendly and approachable but the aim was to be easy to understand from it. I started with a mind map of words that related to the app and from that I got three potentials.

1. Mix and mingle (This one was simply describing talking to others and making friends)

2. Intermix (I liked this one with a mix of inter from international students and mix the mixing of people)

3. Amigo (The Spanish word for friend or comrade)

I couldn't decide between them so I chose to start designing them all and see what potentially could be created from each name.
