Reflection - this class was talking about the ability to show information with images that are pervasive and manipulate you to like something more than you did. It affects the usability of an interface by its aesthetic, it is very interesting to see how something so simple will affect the success of a brand. It can be so effective that it will make you forget about the issues with an interface or make them feel not so bad, with really good photography it will be one of the main building blocks to make your brand successful.

There are lots of different elements that can make a brand successful it is and what it is trying to put across like how interesting and attractive the image is and the product it is trying to promote, illustrated ideas, and products actually showing what they are trying to sell, communicate information/data which could be a main selling point of it, the personality of the brand and their identity, who they are as a company, and enhance UX by giving information.

There are different kinds of images, like Optimised images which make sure the quality of the image is still high but also not taking too long to load so reducing the file size will affect how the user feels about this product, people do not want to wait for an image to load.

Accessible images are about making sure the contrast levels have been considered as lots of people are colourblind or have low vision so you always have to consider the image fully.

Responsive images are making sure the image is appropriately spaced and sized across all different screens as they will have different ratios so will need to be adjusted so they will convey what they are meaning to.

Mad Nice is an Italian restaurant based in Detroit whose brand design was done by Crown Creative which we talked about in class and the work that they produce, After looking at the other brand work they do Mad Nice really stood out to me for its striking style of photography which was credited to Linea Photo and Hayden Stinebaugh.

These photos have such an atmosphere to them, with the warmth and crispness of them. They also display the modern Italian theme of the place with a very classic style but such a softer colour palette, all of the framings of the photos show this clearly. The composition shows the flow outwards and makes great use of the shape of the restaurant from the tables to the counters. The way the light was used in these shots adds so much as well, the main layout is seen in very nature warm light making it fresh and welcoming, in contrast to the food photography being angled making it appear like that is what you would see to with its warmth and authenticity.
