Reflection- In this class, we really discussed what the targets of our brand are and listed them from most important to least important in terms of selling points with a bullseye sectioned into Primary, Secondary, and Tertiary. This activity was effective in getting me to consider what the selling points of my bank are and was a really interesting way of understanding it. I did find it hard to section each section point into what should go first and so on. I'm really glad that we took this approach as it helped me build my layout.
I started doing some research looking at Pinterest for layout ideas and I liked the idea of the sections flowing into one another here are two that stood out to me
This was made by Tributary Design Studio for Urban Wild Studio which is an art team that does everything from graphic recording, illustrations, animation, and live art. The landing page of theirs shows this clearly with the different styles blended together and the connection of the bendy line making it more dynamic as well.

This landing page is by Felix Baky and I love how it talks you through each area of the page, it flows so nicely and isn't broken up by anything. The illustrations on the page also add another layer of visual interest with the warm oranges.

After looking online I jumped straight into creating my own (which was a mistake) so I did some sketches of what I wanted to include which is 1. about making friends and connecting(add photo of uni students) 2. anytime anywhere (app) 3. all that you need (card/app) 4. values 5. footer. While still including the pattern as the element that crosses sections.
This was what I first created for my landing page which is busy, messy, and not sectioned fully, creating this really difficult-to-read and follow the landing page. At this point, I wasn't happy with what I created and went to my lecture for help as I knew that it needed a lot of work and I didn't know where to start. Thankfully I was given some great feedback that helped me get back on track and look at what other banks have on their pages.
After that chat, I looked at actual banks and their landing pages. It was interesting to see the clear difference between a newer bank that has a young target demographic and an older bank they have very different landing pages. the younger ones have very effective pages with visual simplicity while still getting you to click for more whilst the older more established brands have very busy pages that are more about updating you about information and then lots of links to what you're looking for.
I also looked at what you should make sure your landing page is achieving 1. Visual simplicity 2. the right words and openers 3. the way colour has been used (I can use my accent colours to bring attention to areas) 4. calls to action to get you to click further 5. images giving the correct tone 6. no unnecessary information.

I then did some more sketches taking out the extra unnecessary elements and making sure the balance was there in the designs. After doing the sketches I then started working on Figma again. I’m a lot happier with what I have created the second time It feels a lot more balanced, and understandable, and the visual simplicity makes it more effective.
