Hello (user), thank you for coming today. My name is Erin and I’m an interaction designer on the Amigo project.

Amigo is a social app for international students, supporting their adjustment to life in a new country. It is a platform to connect, share advice, and form friendships. The Amigo Pairing System matches students based on common interests, promoting cultural exchange and meaningful support, making university life more welcoming and manageable.

The goal of today is to look at a design and see if the design works in the way you would expect.

I have 2 scenarios for you to work through using this design.

The first thing I want to make clear right away is that we’re testing the design, not you.

Also, please don’t worry that you’re going to hurt our feelings. We’re doing this to improve it, so we need to hear your honest reactions.

As you use the design, I’m going to ask you as much as possible to try to think out loud: to say what you’re looking at, what you’re trying to do, and what you’re thinking. This will be a big help to us.

If I could, I’d like to demonstrate what I mean by ‘think aloud’. [do demonstration of think aloud with amazon.co.uk].

Do you have any questions before we get started?

1st User Testing

This was the first prototyped user testing I did with Jess, linked is a one-drive file of the screen recordings of the interaction as the files were too big to upload.
