After completing the user interview I then took that interview to Chat GTP to create a user persona which I then created in Figma and did an empathy map to break down the user persona further. Because this one was based on the interview I did means it is a mature study that had been working for over 15 years and is now doing a master's so created a second one that is an international undergraduate student that is experiencing university for the first time. I think they both turned out really well and I can see how these will explain the user group to someone easily, I am also glad I did the empathy maps as they break it down really nicely.
I looked at the NN group article about journey mapping they define it as “A journey map is a visualization of the process that a person goes through in order to accomplish a goal.” in other words, it's the way a person does a task. It goes through one person's journey of completing a task or goal. Part of it is the journey phases which are all the high-level stages in the journey like actions, thoughts, and emotions.
Actions, mindset, and emotions are part of the user journey and will be necessary to create a good user journey map.
The main point of doing a user journey is to reflect back on the information and see all the opportunities that it has. You can do this by asking yourself these questions what needs to be done, what can be done, and who does it affect?

This is a user journey I created that is about an international student coming to study in the UK, it's just a broad user journey and isn't specific to the user personas that I have created.
