We received this task that was three gmail screens that then we had to copy to the best of our ability in a very short time frame.

Out of the three screens I managed to copy one fully and was at the beginning stages of another.

While I didn't get this exercise finished I still did manage to get quite far, especially after talking to Ronan and realizing that I did not start this exercise in the most straightforward way.

The lessons I have taken from this are…

• Spending too long on the individual icons that I made, instead of using a plug-in would have saved a lot of time and would have focussed on the UI as a whole.
• Not using components or groups, when creating screens that had elements that are repeated continuously, would have also saved a lot of time.
• Not using Google Mail design systems, to create the individual elements of the design.

Reflection - this exercise was really interesting, as we all approached the task very differently reef and it resulted in everybody at various different stages. Ronan talked about getting stuck in areas and spending too much time on them. Which causes you to forget about the UI as a whole, i did do this with the icons but I still managed to get quite far while adding a lot of detail. I really enjoyed this project and if I was to do it again I would approach it differently from the lessons that I have learned from it.
