I started looking at safety on night outs when doing the 30-minute research exercise, an interesting thing I came across was that SafeZone is a security app that is connected to your location so if it is activated it will alert the security team. But this is the app that is connected to most university campuses across the UK when I thought it was only connected to Ulster University.
Safety overall is considered a thing that you should be aware of to help yourself, the advice that most university gives is just to make sensible choices and be aware of any signs of danger. They do offer help through security and the SafeZone app but even at that, there feels like a real disconnect that you have to seek out help rather than just have it automatically available.
